FAQs
1. What supplies are needed for computer class?
· All students need a pair of headphones. These must be stored in a ziplock bag with the student's name and room number written on it.
Students in kindergarten through 4th grade need only a two-pocket folder.
· Students in grades 5-8 need a folder and some kind of removable storage (floppy disk or flash drive - no CD's please). It is strongly encouraged that students in grades 7-8 use flash drives.
These items can be purchased at the school store.
Floppy disks are available for 50 cents.
1 GB flash drives, with a lanyard, are available for $8.00.
Headphones in a bag are available for $4.00.
These items can also be found at any office supply store.
2. Will the students have computer homework?
Many of the projects in the lab will be created in conjunction with your child’s classroom teacher and will be used to enhance their learning in other subjects. However, because not every family has a home computer, students will be given class and lab time to complete any computer-dependent assignments. At times, your child may have an assignment for computer class to complete at home that does not require the use of a computer.
